Velneshwar Beach Beautification Project
Velneshwar is about 170 km from Ratnagiri, in Maharashtra, India. It's a sleepy, quiet village with beach lined with coconut trees. The beach is free from submerged rocks and this makes it inviting for the city bred tourist to take a dip in the sea.
Unfortunately over a period of time the once clean beach has been polluted and makes the beach an ugly and ungainly sight for the visitors. Addressing this issue, Sparsh Yog India has under taken the Velneshwar Beach Beautification Project.
Under this project volunteers of SYI gather as and when required to clean the beach of tourist left behinds such as plastic bottles, plastic bags, wrappers etc
Project Milestones (to Velneshwar )
There are no sign boards on way to Velneshwar from Chiplun. Due to this, the tourists take the wrong turn and are utterly lost. They end up going several kilometers ahead of the turn they need to take and are much inconvenienced.
Addressing this issue Sparsh Yog India has volunteered to put up sign boards to guide the tourist to the right direction. In all there will be 10 signboards on each side – to and fro- of the road. This project will be done in a phased manner.
